Mother’s Day

Every year, we celebrate mothers. We thank them for everything they do and for the love they give us. Often, we give them or make them a Mother’s Day gift. But where does this tradition come from? The Greeks and Romans were the first to introduce a day devoted to mothers, each spring organizing a ceremony in honour of Rhea and Cybele, the mothers of the Gods.

Today, Mother’s Day is an international event. Many countries celebrate it in different ways. For example, in Germany, on Mother’s Day, mothers do not work and their children pamper them throughout the day. In Spain, mothers and grandmothers do not cook that day! Whatever way the day is marked, it’s important to take the time to thank the most important woman in our life!
